Friday, October 14, 2011, – Bangkok, Thailand: In the wake of the devastation caused by recent floods in Bangkok, former Chang Thailand Slammer’s captain Mr. Piyapong Piroon (No.13) stepped up by donating his jersey collection in an effort to raise money to aid flood victims.
Super Boy (an affectionate nickname his fans have given him) generously contributed his team jacket, a number of his jerseys as well as official balls from the ABL in a charity bid held in Bangkok recently. To further the cause, Mr. Nipondh Chawalitmontien, team owner of Chang Thailand Slammers then committed to matching the highest bid on a single item, doubling the amount generated from the original bid.
It turns out the most sought after item is Piyapong’s white ASEAN Basketball League Chang Thailand Slammers home jersey which went for five thousand baht (or RM500) and as promised, Mr.Niphon matched that, doubling the amount to a total of ten thousand baht (or RM1,000).
The final total from Piyapong’s items amounted to fourty five thousand baht (or RM4,500)  which will all go to victims of the vicious floods in Bangkok.
