Westports Malaysia Dragons VS Saigon Heat

The Westports Malaysia Dragons are riding high at this point, being the only team in the league so far to have won all of their games and will definitely hope to continue this run in front of their home crowd as they host the Saigon Heat this coming Saturday. The newcomers from Vietnam will be having a bit more of a difficult time as they just suffered a tough lost against the Singapore Slingers only three days before.

Malaysia Dragons' Tiras Wade will go up against the league's current point leader Saigon Heat's Julius Hodge.

Dragons have the best two scoring imports in the league. Tiras Wade is averaging 25 points per game and Brian Williams is averaging 24 points per game. Williams have been phenomenal is his first two games in the AirAsia ABL. The former University of Tennessee center is also league's best rebounder with 18.5 rebounds per game. Dragons received a big boost from their bench last weekend. Patrick Cabahug was huge in the Dragons' win against the Indonesia Warriors as he scored 21 points off the bench. The Dragons are also getting big contributions from former PBA star Nic Belasco. The 6’8’’ forward scored 10 points last saturday.

Two scoring machines Julius Hodge and Tiras Wade will try to cancel each other out in this match up. Hodge, who is currently the leading scorer in the league, will look to continue this trend as well as Wade who is the 2nd leading score in the league. Heat’s big man Jonathan Jones will also have to stop Williams from scoring and rebounding. The whole Heat team will need to help rebound the ball for the Heat to have a chance to win the game.

Heat definitely would love to see their sharpshooter Sophoeun Oeun starts making shots. Oeun have been struggling as he shot for 2-18 from the field including 0-8 from the three point line in his first two ABL games. Heat beefed up their front court by acquiring a veteran big man Ronald Capati. The 6'5'' forward, who had a short stint with Indonesia Warriors last season, made his debut last wednesday against the Slingers.
