Game 28: Dragons' Brian Williams Records Monster Double Double to Defeat Slingers

Sunday 19th February 2012, tip-off 3pm local time, MABA Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Dragons asserted their dominance straight into the game, quickly pulling away with a 12 point run, led by Dragons imports Tiras Wade and Brian Williams who collectively contributed 9 out of those 12 points. A timeout was called by Coach Neo to try to get the troops back in line but at this point the Slingers could not find a solution and the quarter ended 21 to 7 in favor of the home team.

The second quarter was much better for the Slingers and although they were unable to keep Williams or Wade down, Donald Little and Louis Graham worked hard to keep the Slingers in the game, contributing 27 out of the team’s 34 points at halftime. The Slingers still trailed at the mid-way point but they have managed to cut their deficit down and trail the Dragons 34 to 47.

Coming into the second half of the game the Slingers tried hard to keep the Dragons at bay but incredible 3 pointers from Brian Williams followed immediately with two by Tiras Wade saw the Dragons increase their lead even further. Despite a brave effort by the Slingers, the third quarter ended 66 to 47 in favor of the Dragons.

Dragon’s two international imports are on fire in this game and are virtually unstoppable, Tiras Wade completed the game as the lead scorer with 34 points while teammate Brian Williams continued his collection of double doubles with 30pts and 15 rebounds out of this game. For the Slingers, Louis Graham finished with 25 points and 9 rebounds as the Slingers fell at the Dragon’s den 86 to 71.

After two back to back home games the Westports Malaysia Dragons will travel to Ynares Sports Arena  in Pasig City, Philippines to face the San Miguel Beermen on the 25th of February 2012 for their next match-up. The Jobstreet.com Singapore Slingers’ will also travel on the same day but to the Mahaka Square in Indonesia to face the Indonesia Warriors.
