JobStreet.com Singapore Slingers bring in Donald Rashaad Singleton to replace the injured Kyle Jeffers. Singleton is a 7'0 center that will provide the Slingers with size and a big impact on the defensive end. Jeffers had to sit out for a few weeks due to his battle with plantar fascitis. Jeffers is a fan favorite in Singapore and has been averaging 17.5 points and 11.88 rebounds per game so far this season.
Singleton played for Florida Southern college in 2009 and since has been known as a great shot blocker. More recently, he returned to Japan to help lead the Sendai 89ers to the playoffs including a notable performance (25 points,12 rebounds, 6 blocks) against reigning champions Hamamatsu Phoenix in February, 2012.His latest basketball adventure also saw him suit-up for Sitra in the Bahrain Premier League.
Got invited to a workout held by the New York Knicks in 2009. In his workout was Stephen Curry, Gerald Henderson and Jrue Holiday all who are currently in the NBA. Singleton also played for the Knicks in the NBA Summer league and did very well. Singleton will suit for the Slingers on Sunday when they take on the Westports Malaysia Dragons at MABA Stadium, Malaysia.
