Singapore Slingers Avenge Previous Loss, Winning 92 – 74 Against KL Dragons
Monday, January 11, 2010, Singapore – Today marked the second match between Singapore Slingers and KL Dragons at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Their previous match on 22 November saw KL Dragons hand Slingers their first home defeat of the season. Both teams were neck in neck in the first half, but KL Dragons pulled away after half time and ended the match 84 – 74 against the Slingers.

 

For today’s match, Singapore Slingers sent in Kyle Jeffers, Michael LeBlanc, Marcus Ng, Al Vergara and Hong Wei Jian to go up against KL Dragons’ starting lineup of Rudy Lingganay, Fhadzmir Bandaying, Roel Hugnatan, Jamal Brown and Chris Kuete.

 

Slingers’ Kyle Jeffers won the jumpball against Dragons’ Jamal Brown, converting to a 2 point shot for the Slingers within 40 seconds of the quarter. At the end of the first quarter, the Slingers had a 5 point lead, ending 20 – 15 against the Dragons. In the second quarter, Slingers’ continued to dominate, increasing their lead to 18 points, ending 48 – 30 against the Dragons at half time.

 

In the third quarter, the KL Dragons upped their defense, only allowing Slingers to score 18 points versus Dragons’ 25 points. This allowed Dragons to reduce their opponent’s lead to 11 points, ending the quarter 55 – 66 against the Slingers. Not wanting to disappoint their home crowd, the Slingers took back the match in the fourth quarter and at the final buzzer had an 18 point lead, ending the match 92 – 74 against the KL Dragons.

I think it is better to take out all imports and let the locals who will play for their country against the locals of the other countries. And even those players that are with mixed blood are not allowed to play. Then from there we can see who will be the strongest team in South-East Asia Region and who will the Champion of this league.

Hi all let us just wait and see if Emerson words, prediction and sign are correct about Slingers will be the Champion.

I am also excited to see how OBVIOUS it is that Slingers will be Nunber One at the end of the day!!

Gentlemen: You dont have to wait for the play offs to predict who is going to win the championship... Is it not obvious yet? all the signs had to Singapore Slingers as the team that will emerge the champion of 2009-2010 ASEAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE.
