The Dragons, formerly the KL Dragons, will compete in 2012 as the Westports Malaysia Dragons after Westports Malaysia was given exclusive naming rights as the team's title sponsors.
The team's emblem of a Red Dragon was chosen as it represents a fierce yet benevolent character, which also symbolizes strength, passion, power and authority. The Dragons' mission is the develop basketball in Malaysia to reach greater heights, envisioning Malaysia to one day be a force to be reckoned with in the sport.
